The Nation Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is holding a free, 12-week course on mental health offered to families who have a relative with mental illness. The brain disorders that will be covered include schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depression, anxiety disorder, OCD, and borderline personality disorder.
Other classes will include the biology of the brain, medications, communications techniques, problem solving, empathy, self care, advocacy, rehabilitation, and recovery.
Classes begin on September 18 at 6:30 p.m. at 142 South Prospect Street (the offices of Crawford-Marion ADAMH) in Marion.
