The Ohio State Highway Patrol will be operating an OVI checkpoint Saturday, September 15, 2012, from 10:00pm to 1:00am in the 200 block of North Main Street in Marion (near St. Mary’s Catholic Church).
The OVI checkpoint, funding by federal grant dollars, is planned to deter and intercept impaired drivers.
The checkpoint will also be held in conjunction with nearby saturation patrols to aggressively combat alcohol-related injury and fatal crashes, said the Patrol in a media release.
If you plan to consume alcohol, the Patrol says to designate a driver or make other travel arrangments before you drink. The Patrol says don’t let another life be lost for the senseless and selfish act of getting behind the wheel impaired.
