Emanuel Lutheran Church Choir Christmas Cantata

Emanuel Lutheran ChurchThe Emanuel Lutheran Church Choir invites the community to a very special Christmas service on Sunday, December 16, 2012 at 10:30am in the Emanuel Lutheran Church sanctuary, 241 South Prospect Street, Marion.

Tanyce J. Addison will direct the production with Allan Lust, who serves as the Director of Music at the church, as the accompanist to the choir.

“A Christmas Cantata is an event Emanuel Lutheran has looked forward to every year for as long as we can remember,” explained Addison. “We are so very fortunate to have so many musicians who share their talents in our worship.”

Over thirty choir members accompanied by a 21 piece orchestra will be presenting a brand new Christmas Cantata; “AND ON EARTH, PEACE” written by Randy Vader, Jay Rouse, and Rose Aspinall.

“It is the most beautiful music I have ever directed,” said Addison, a 30 year retired music teacher and director of the Emanuel Choir for the past 8 years. “The choral and instrumental arrangements are new and exciting.”

The Cantata also has a DVD presentation while the choir is singing. Rich Tubbs, video director, has worked diligently to bring this added feature that truly enhances the entire worship experience. This is the story of the birth of the Prince of Peace.

Soloists for the cantata include Jami Rawlins, Dustin Rawlins, Pastor Mark Schuring, Luke Stewart, Aaron Suarez, Marcia Geyer, Teri Turner, and Amy Pinnick. Special narrations are given by Rich Tubbs, Kathy Mullins, Donna Thomas, Jean Yake, Louann Showalter, Sue Kaufman, and many others.

The church is inviting people of all ages, non members and members, to share in this special Christmas celebration.
