Marion General Hospital’s Cardiac Rehab Center is sponsoring Mall Walk 2013, an annual event that celebrates National Cardiac Rehabilitation Week and Heart Month. Slated for Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Marion Centre Mall, you can join current and past cardiac rehab patients for a one-mile walk (3 ½ laps) around the inside of the mall.
Registration for the walk begins at 8:00 am the day of the walk, with step-off at 8:30 am.
The Mall Walk began in 1990 and was presented as an option for people to exercise indoors during the cold winter months. Since that time, it has grown to include current and past cardiac rehab patients, spouses and other family members, as well as many members of the Marion community.
Participants can walk as long or as little as they want, based on individual ability and condition. There is no minimum distance required to join the walk. Prizes and heart healthy information are available for all participants.
