On Monday, March 4, 2013 around 8:30pm, members of the METRICH / MARMET Drug Task with the assistance of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle in the area of Mayfield and Summerset Drives. K-9 Kilo of the sheriff’s office was used to search the car and detectives say they located eight grams of crack cocaine.
Officers arrested 42 year-old Alonzo T. Harris of Marion and transported him to the Multi-County Correctional Center. Officials say that additional drugs were located on Harris when he was searched at the jail. He was initially charged with trafficking in crack cocaine, possession of crack cocaine, and conveyance into a detention facility.
“The METRICH / MARMET Drug Task Force is working hard to target those individuals that sell and use drugs in Marion County,” stated Lt. Chris Adkins.
