The Palace Cultural Arts Association is pleased to announce favorite hometown artists Sara Wenig-Grote and Kristi Wink will present An Evening With Friends at the Marion Palace Theatre May Pavilion in downtown Marion on Friday, April 26, 2013 at 8 pm.
Audience members will experience an evening of musical entertainment featuring the beautiful voices of Sara and Kristi. These talented ladies will perform solos and duets from a wide variety of Broadway and Off-Broadway productions that include Sweeney Todd, Wicked, Sunset Boulevard, Little Shop of Horrors, Rent, Hairspray, Beauty and the Beast, Hercules, Funny Girl, Zombie Prom and Chess just to name a few.
Sara and Kristi are no strangers to audiences in the area and have both appeared in several Palace musicals. They first started working together in 2007 when Kristi choreographed Peter Pan and Sara played “Peter.” The pair went on to work together in more musicals at the Palace including Hairspray, Christmas at the Palace, and most recently the very well received 2012 Palace Production of Annie, where Sara played the part of the gentle and loving “Grace” while Kristi was cast as the cruel and heartless “Miss Hannigan.”
Interestingly, the two are often cast as enemies on stage. Kristi laughs and responds to the paradox between their on-stage nemesis and off-stage friendship.
“We wanted to break the chain of always playing enemies on stage. It will be fun to make music together without all the venom flying. We are really looking forward to sharing an evening of laughter, memories and singing great music with great friends.”
