Robert C. Brewer, 83, of Marion, passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2010 in Marion General Hospital. Bob was born in Ashland, Kentucky to the late Fred and Nellie (Horn) Brewer on August 20, 1926.
Bob worked for and retired from Eaton where he worked as a machinist. He was a Navy veteran of WWII serving at age 17, was a member of the American Legion Post 584 and a member of the LST930H. Bob was a very generous and kind man to all and he who would do anything for anyone!
Surviving is his wife, Melba J. (Blair) Brewer, of 64 years, married on March 21, 1946. Also surviving are his children, Linda (Mike) Varner of Kenton, Larry (Sharon) Brewer of Marion, Cindy (Glenn) Combs of Marion; 9 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild; siblings, Fred Brewer of Ashland, KY, Charles Brewer of Catlettsburg, KY, Helen Yoder of Ashland, KY, and Allene Comer of Ironton, OH.
Preceding Bob in death was a daughter, Sandy; 2 grandchildren; siblings, Paul Chandler, Gartrell Chandler, Johnson Brewer, Sammy Brewer, Donald Ray Brewer, Mildred Salyer, Margaret Porter and Hilda Marie Brewer.
Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20, 2010. A graveside burial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 with Rev. Russell Howard. Veteran services will be provided by the Marion County United Veterans Council.
