Shirley Mae Myers, age 75, of Canaan Township, Edison passed away Tuesday morning April 20th, 2010 at home after an extended illness.
She was born September 06, 1934 in Prospect, the daughter of the late Harrison & Cecil (Lauer) Blackford.
On September 3rd 1960 she married Donald E. Myers. He survives her at home.
Shirley was a graduate of Prospect High School and had work at Tecumseh Products in the 60’s. Shirley enjoyed being a “Homebody.“ She enjoyed watching hummingbirds and taking care of her pets. Especially her dog Tucker. When she was able she enjoyed watching her boys and grandchildren at sporting activities.
Besides her husband, Shirley is survived by her son Mark Myers and her son and daughter-in-law David & Lisa Myers of Edison. She is also survived by her grandchildren; Shawn (Tia) and Brock, Madison, Luke and Delaney Myers. One great grandaughter; Zaida. She is also survived by her special friend and neighbor Edna Meade.
She was preceded in death by her sister June Blackford and her half-sister Joan Tatoro.
Funeral Services for Shirley will be held at 1:00 P.M. Friday April 23rd, 2010 at the Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home in Caledonia with Chaplain Jedidiah Brake officiating. Interment will follow in Caledonia Cemetery. Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Thursday from 6 until 8.
