The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) says crews began shifting traffic Friday morning on State Route 95 in Marion between University Drive and Blevins Drive. That means traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction until the traffic switch is complete.
By the end of Friday, there will once again be two lanes of travel in both directions on SR 95, but motorists will be on the north side of the road.
ODOT says motorists will also notice three new turn lanes along the corridor. Two right turn lanes, one near the McDonald’s and Walmart and another turn lane near Penny Pincher Place. There will also be a left turn lane at Pole Lane Road that will allow you to access SR 95 east.
The $2.3 safety improvement project, which started in April includes new turn lanes, upgraded signage, striping, resurfacing, wider shoulders, bike lanes and drainage improvements.
The project is scheduled for completion this fall.
