Entry Forms Available for Popcorn Festivals Storybook Land Parade

Popcorn FestivalThe Marion Popcorn Festival’s Orville Redenbacher Parade is set to step off at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2013.  The theme for this year’s event will be “Storybook Land.”

Festival officials said that, although the overall theme for the Festival is “The Big Pop”, the Festival’s parade and pageant events enjoy setting a secondary theme each year to give the events a coordinated look, as well as giving direction to the infinite creativeness of the participants.  It was felt that the “Storybook Land” theme would give parade entrants and pageant contestants a great outlet for their imaginative spark.

Parade organizers have mailed entry forms to last year’s participants.  If you have not received an entry form, you may pick one up at either the Marion Area Convention and Visitors Bureau or the Marion Area Chamber of Commerce.  You may also go online at www.popcornfestival.com and download the form.

Main stage entertainment for 2013 includes WANTED: The Bon Jovi Tribute Band on Thursday, September 5; iconic group The Village People on Friday, September 6, and country artist Jo Dee Messina on Saturday, September 7.  All performances on the Festival’s main stage begin at 8:30 p.m. and are free of charge.  A limited number of Kernel sponsorship seats are available for any of the main stage performances by calling 740-383-2076.
