Marion Celebrates Earth Day With Two Clean Ups

Marion County Recycling and Litter Prevention is inviting the community to celebrate Earth Week with two clean-ups, one in downtown and one at a local park.

You can start off with Earth Day (Thursday, April 22) at Busby Park in Downtown Marion (the corner of East Center and Prospect Streets). From noon to 2:00pm, help clean up litter around the park.

Then on Saturday, April 24, join volunteers at Quarry Park (Hillman-Ford Road, north of West Fairground Street) from 2:00pm to 4:00pm.

Both days include refreshments and door prizes. Tree seedlings will be available, as well as free document shredding. Trash bags and gloves will be provided.

For more information, call Marion County Recycling & Litter Prevention at 223-4120.
