Bernard Nowacki, MD, has joined OhioHealth Marion Area Physicians effective June 23, 2013. Dr. Nowacki is an orthopedic surgeon who has practiced in Marion, Ohio, since 1981. He specializes in general orthopedics with a special interest in shoulders and knees. Dr. Nowacki was a former Chief of Surgery and Vice Chief of Staff at OhioHealth Marion General Hospital.
After graduating from the University of Michigan, Dr. Nowacki completed his medical degree and specialty training at Wayne State University Affiliated Hospitals in Detroit, Michigan. He is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and is a Fellow in the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. Dr. Nowacki is currently a member of the Ohio Orthopedic Association, the Columbus Orthopedic Society, Mid-America Orthopedic Association, and the Ohio State Medical Association.
“The decision to join Marion Area Physicians comes from wanting to focus more on patient care rather than on management,” says Dr. Nowacki. “And the coordination of services, all provided under one roof, will certainly benefit my patients.”

Previously, Dr. Nowacki’s office was located in Doctor’s Park in Marion, but will now be located on the ground level of the Marion Area Physicians building (formerly Smith Clinic), 1040 Delaware Avenue in Marion. Dr. Nowacki and his wife, Christine, have been active members of the Marion community for over 30 years. Their sons, Christopher Nowacki and Dr. Nick Nowacki, both graduated from The Ohio State University and both reside in the Columbus area.
