Poppin’ Pooch Pageant is Taking Early Entries

poppin-pooch-2012The Marion Popcorn Festival’s Poppin’ Pooch Pageant will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 24, at Bluefusion Entertainment Center located in the Plaza Shopping Center on Mt. Vernon Avenue in Marion.

Dogs will compete in three categories:  Favorite Outfit, Popcorn Wear, and Performance of a Trick (2 minutes).  All dogs must be on a leash.  Entries received prior to August 1 will have a $25 entry fee.   Entries received after August 1 will be $30.

“No experience is required,” said Poppin’ Pooch Chairman Robb Koons.  “If your dog doesn’t do tricks, just improvise and get the crowd going … this is all about having fun.”  Koons continued, “… and if you don’t have a dog, come out, enjoy the canine antics, and vote for your favorite.”
