Josephine Thompson, 76, of Marion passed away at Marion General Hospital Wednesday, April 21, 2010.
She was born in Lawrence County, Alabama on May 28, 1933 to the late Jack and Willie Lucille (Smith) Robinson.
Josephine retired from the State of New York as a supervisor with the MRDD program. At the time of her passing she was the owner director of Thompsons Home Facility in Marion. She was a member of Mt. Zion Church.
Josephine is survived by 3 brothers, Ernest Robinson of Marion, Angrus Robinson of North Carolina, and Marshall Garner, Jr. of Alabama; 2 sisters, Ola Houston of Oberlin, Ohio, and Marcel Garner of Alabama; and 2 grandchildren, Jamie Poch, and Jessica Growney.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Rivera; 2 brothers, E.C. and Jack Robinson; and a sister, Emma Thompson.
Services will be held Wednesday, April 28, 2010 at Boyd-Born Funeral Home. A funeral service will begin at 1 PM with Clayton Young officiating. Burial will follow in Grand Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be held 1 hour prior to service.
