The Marion Police Department reports they made an arrest last month connected to the theft of an urn back in October. That urn contained the remains of a deceased child.
On October 20, 2013, the Marion Police Department was called to an apartment on Owens Street in regards to a burglary. The victim in this case reported an urn stolen, which contained the remains of an infant child. The incident was covered extensively by local and state media in an attempt to get the urn returned.
In December of 2013, police say they were notified of evidence linking an individual to the scene of the burglary. The suspect in this case was quickly located. After completion of the investigation, police said they made an arrest on December 19, 2013 in the theft of the urn.
Harvey Joseph. 19, of Marion, was charged with burglary.
Investigators say the urn was not recovered and still remains a priority. The investigation into the involvement of others is still on-going.
