Radio Pirates to “Rock” the May Pavilion

Radio PiratesThe Palace Cultural Arts Association will welcome the local band Radio Pirates to the Marion Palace Theatre May Pavilion on Friday, February 28, 2014 at 8:00 pm.

The Palace says the Radio Pirates have been a favorite among Marion party goers since their first gig in 1997 and delivers a concert experience filled with music of the most celebrated artists of the 60s through 80s.  Audience members can expect to hear classic rock songs from the Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, The Cars, U2 and more.

The band’s objectives remain the same today as they did more than 15 years ago, to play good rock and roll and to play it well.  Radio Pirates are comprised of three founding members Mike Mastro (drums), Mike Postel (bass/vocals) and Vaughn Sizemore (guitar/vocals) along with Dale Haddad (percussion/vocals), Andy Kerr (lead guitar) and Kevin Woods (guitar).

The Pirates are accustomed to interacting with their audience and having a good time.  When asked about some of their most memorable concerts Sizemore is quick to share his memory of a favorite event.

“We have played some wild jobs. It comes with the turf. Once a few years back, The Radio Pirates were hired to play a wedding reception in a huge airplane hangar for a Harley-Davidson themed wedding,” said Sizemore. “The entire bridal party roared into this huge hangar on Harleys-no joke! Guys in black and bridesmaids in orange dresses! What a party and all got out alive!”

Radio Pirates is scheduled to perform in the Palace Theatre May Pavilion on Friday, February 28 at 8:00 p.m. Come as a group of 8 or more and the Palace will reserve a table for you. Seating will be at tables on the main floor and mezzanine levels creating the ideal place to meet friends for a drink, chat, relax and enjoy the entertainment.
