Paul Revere and the Raiders to perform at the Marion Palace Theatre

Paul Revere and the RaidersDubbed as the comedy princes of rock n’ roll, Paul Revere and the Raiders, will bring their special brand of entertainment to the Marion Palace Theatre on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 8:00pm.

Paul Revere and the Raiders had 25 consecutive hit singles in the 1960’s, some of which include “Louie Louie,” “Like Long Hair,” “Great Airplane Strike,” “Steppin’ Out,” “Ups and Downs,” “Just Like Me,” “Him or Me,” “Birds of a Feather,” “Kicks,” “Hungry,” “Good Thing,” and their number 1 smash hit, “Indian Reservation.”

The band’s shows may be best described as a spirited blend of soulful old-time rock and roll integrated with a wild and crazy stage act. Six charismatic band members take the stage decked out in colorful Revolutionary War uniforms and bound about the stage with endless energy, props and gags which lends a party atmosphere to the evening.

Revere’s Raiders are Doug Heath, lead guitarist; Tommy Scheckel, drums; Daniel Krause, keyboardist, vocalist; Darren Dowler, lead vocalist; and Ron Foos, bassist.

Self-described “Mad Man,” Paul Revere has led the band since 1958.

“The silliness and craziness of the show has been constantly evolving for 50 years,” Revere said in a recent interview with the Elko Daily Free Press. “It’s just fun. It’s the old music from the 60s, and we’re trying to transport people back in time.”

The Paul Revere and the Raiders concert will take the Marion Palace Theatre stage on Saturday, April 12 at 8 p.m. Reserved seating tickets are $25-$40. Sponsored by The First Citizens National Bank, McCoy Landscape Services, Inc., Dr. David Foulk-Marion Ob/Gyn, Inc. and supported by Ohio Arts Council.
