The Boomer and Senior Expo hosted by Kingston Residence of Marion is set for Friday, May 30, 2014 from 10:00am to 3:00pm. The 2nd annual event is free to the public and includes 50 vendors who provide products, services and valuable information for Boomers and Seniors.
The Expo is featuring several of Marion’s “Senior Celebrities.” The Celebrity Seniors include: MaryEllen Withrow, Charlie Evers, Larry Barnett, Fran Voll, George Kasotas, Mary Ann Michaels, Phil Reid and Jack Kellogg. The community event also includes a special Memorial Day gun salute and taps by the Marion County Veterans Honor Guard.
The Expo will include health screenings, product demonstrations, door prizes, give-a-ways, home-made ice cream, good food and drinks and a live radio remote with Jeff Ruth. There will also be a vintage car show. Each participant will have an opportunity to win valuable prizes.
Sponsors of the Boomers and Senior Expo include: Ohio Health Marion General Hospital, Acclaim Hospice and Palliative Care, Genesis Rehab Services, Health Care Plus and Signature Health Services.
“The Expo will have everything from Social Security, disability and Medicaid information, Alzheimer’s information, insurance and supplemental plans, funeral plans, retirement plans, travel for seniors and much more,” explained event organizer Bob Goyer. “This event will also feature valuable home products, such as: walk-in tubs, security and emergency devices, orthopedic chairs and beds, health screenings and more. The Expo is designed to make life easier for our boomer and senior generation. Information and assistance for caregivers of seniors will also be included.”
