Bicycles, Motorcycles, and Classic Cars All this Weekend in Marion

Hot Tamale 2013In addition to dozens of garage sales, including the Prospect sales, there are three big events in the Marion area on Saturday, June 7, 2014. The Hot Tamale Bycycle Tour, Brandy Winfield Run, and the Cruisin’ for Dialysis are all back providing activities and raising funds.

Hot Tamale Bicycle Tour, organized by the Heart of Ohio Tailwinds Bicycle Club, kicks off with registration at 7:00am. The ride starts at 8:00am and leaves from the Waldo Community Park in Waldo and includes a 62 mile loop along scenic farm roads along with 34, 16, and 8 mile options.

You can register the day of the ride for $20 for ages 11 and up (kids 10 and under are free). $1 will be donated to Marion County’s future bicycle trails on behalf of each cyclist.

The 10th Annual Brandy Winfield Run kicks off at the Marion County Fairgrounds, 220 East Fairground Street, on Saturday with registration from 9:00 to 11:00 am. Bikes depart at 12:00 noon. Get there early for breakfast.

Registration is $20/Single or $25/Couple and you can sign up that morning.

All motorcycles are welcome and encouraged to participate. The ride wraps up back at the fairgrounds where there will be food (included in your registration), live music, and more.

Proceeds from the annual event go to help several organizations in the Marion area include Safety City.

The Cruisin’ for Dialysis returns to downtown Marion for their 22nd annual car, truck, and motorcycle show to benefit the area Kidney Dialysis Support Group. Opening ceremony is at noon with registration to follow until 3:00pm.

While not a judged show, dozens of sponsor awards will be handed out. You can also “Shoot the Loop” at 6:00pm.
