Marion Public Health is set to offer their next round of free Tobacco Cessation Classes. The six week session begins July 10, 2014 and will be held at Marion Public Health’s offices from 5:00pm to 7:00pm each evening.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, tobacco use is the most preventable cause of death in the United States. It is estimated that one in five cancer deaths in this country is associated with tobacco use.
Topics at the tobacco cessation classes will include:
- Health benefits of tobacco cessation
- Barriers to quitting tobacco products
- Stress management techniques
- Behavior changes
- Nicotine replacement options
