Sabrina Cranmer of Marion was named Ms. Marion Popcorn Festival 2014 during popcorn royalty festivities Saturday evening, August 2, at River Valley High School. She won a $100 cash award, a crown sponsored by Goldrush Jewelers, banner and prize package.
“Surprised.” “Tickled.” “Thrilled.” Those were the first words Cranmer used to describe her emotions when she heard her name called. “My granddaughter has been doing the Popcorn Festival pageants and it looked like fun, so I thought, ‘Why not?’ never thinking in a million years I’d win.”
Carnmer also garnered the Popcorn Wear, Evening Gown, and Interview Awards. A home health care nurse at American Nursing Care, Carnmer resides in Marion. She has two children, Douglas Oliver and Shawn White.
First runner up was Kim Bradshaw, a quality analyst with Ohio Mutual Insurance Group. Residing in Marion, she and her husband, Daniel, are the parents of Anna and Lydia.
Stacy Hines, who also captured the People’s Choice award by raising nearly $2,000 towards the pageant, was second runner-up. From Waldo, Hines is an income tax account specialist with the City of Delaware. She and her husband, Scott, have three children Courtnie, Caden, and Cloie.
Each runner-up received a banner and prize package. Also participating were:
Paige Mosley who took home the Photogenic Award. She is the founder and CEO of Fred Darling Dance Studio. She resides in Marion and is looking forward to marrying her fiancé Todd Filliater in September.
Tammy Harrison is a production technician at M-Tek. She, her husband, Joe, and three children, Ranissa, Joseph, and Christian, live in Harpster.
Vanessa Callis of Delaware and her husband, Cody, are the parents of Anthony and Lilly. She is a customer account coordinator at XPO Logistics.
Melissa Hines and her husband, Paul, reside in Marion with their children Paula, Kelly, Dustin, Katie, and Emily. Hines is an associate teacher at Ohio Heartland Headstart.
Dina Rudd is a registered nurse at Marion General Hospital. She and her husband, Marvin, are the parents of Whitney, Chris, Ryan, Alex, and stepchildren Danielle and Bryant.
Each of the contestants participated in an Interview session, Evening Wear, Popcorn Wear, and an on-stage question.

Currently celebrating its 34th year, the Marion Popcorn Festival is the largest popcorn festival in the world with an annual attendance estimated in excess of 250,000 over the three-day festival. Other events include a popcorn cooking contest, a fine art show, crafts, Popcorn 5000 5K run, Popcorn 100 bike tour, a community showcase stage, and more.
