A two-run double from James Ramsey followed by Jesus Aguilar’s solo homer gave Columbus the fuel it needed to erase a 5-4 deficit.
Fans at Slugger Field witnessed a back-and-forth affair throughout the night, Louisville had surged in front with a three-run seventh inning after the Clippers led 1-0 and 4-1 earlier.
Clippers reliever Mark Lowe picked up the win (4-2) despite allowing the tying run in the seventh. Starter Zach McAllister did not factor in the decision after allowing four runs (three earned) over 6.2 innings. Bryan Price earned the save with a scoreless ninth.
The Clippers and Bats conclude the series Friday at 7:05pm from Slugger Field. Columbus’ “Magic Number” to clinch the West Division in down to six.
