Celtic band Lone Raven to perform at Palace Theatre’s May Pavilion

Lone Raven: (left to right) Neil Jacob, Elizabeth Blickenstaff, Sid Omasta, Kara Markley and Craig Markley.Providing a chance to stretch out St. Patrick’s Day celebrations, the Marion Palace Theatre located in downtown Marion, will present the Dublin, Ohio based Celtic band Lone Raven in the May Pavilion on Friday, March 27, 2015 at 7:30 p.m. General admission tickets are on sale now for $15.

Garnering rave reviews throughout Ohio and the surrounding states, Lone Raven performs an eclectic blend of traditional music from various areas of the world, as well as their own original compositions. The group uses over 20 instruments in their performances, including a variety of unique ethnic instruments, and soars through everything from fiery Irish reels to Gypsy fiddle tunes and haunting airs.

Father/daughter duo Craig and Kara Markley are joined by a group of talented musicians. Their instrumentals are fueled by the twin fiddles of Elizabeth Blickenstaff and Kara Markley, driven by an explosive rhythm section consisting of Craig Markley and Sid Omasta, and feature the award-winning guitar playing of Neil Jacobs. Additionally, Kara’s highly acclaimed vocal stylings are showcased throughout the concert, performing songs in both English and Irish Gaelic.

In addition to sharing the music of their ancestors, they delight audiences with a collection of award-winning, original compositions that have been featured on radio and television programs across the globe.

Tickets are $15 and seating will be at tables on the main floor and mezzanine levels creating a place to meet friends for a drink, chat, relax and enjoy the entertainment.
