Virginia Maxine Sherman, age 87, died Thursday afternoon, April 8, 2010 at the Morrow Manor Nursing Center in Chesterville.
She was born in West Liberty, Ohio on March 16, 1923, the daughter of the late Fred C. and Lieudelle (Bosart) Davie.
Virginia has been a member of the Morrow County Community since she was 17, where she has tilled the land and raised dairy cows.
An extremely hard worker; when not farming she was working at the mobile home manufacturing plant in Galion.
A friend of the Amish, Virginia used her free time to transport them to their various jobs throughout the area.
A true animal lover, Virginia always had cats and dogs at her home. They were her babies.
Most importantly, Virginia loved driving around on her John Deere mower. To her it was not just a lawnmower, it was a mode of transportation.
In addition her parents and husband, Kenneth, she was preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Don, Gene, Bill, Chuck, Walter, Anna, and Margie.
She will be missed by 15 nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Monday April 12, 2010 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Kelly Melvin officiating at the Snyder Funeral Home, 76 South Main Street, Mount Gilead. Friends may call on the family from noon until the time of service.
