Arrests made in connection to string of business robberies

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office said they made several arrests after responding to a burglary alarm early Thursday morning. Both the Sheriff’s Office and Marion Police Department have been experiencing an increased amount of burglaries to businesses so both agencies had detectives out working in a collaborated effort to solve these crimes.

On Thursday, July 30, 2015 at 2:29am, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office responded to a burglary alarm at a business in the 1500 block of Marion Waldo Road.

Detectives spotted a vehicle leaving the area of the burglary alarm this date and when sheriff deputies and detectives from both agencies attempted to stop the vehicle it fled from them. A short pursuit ensued on Richland Road and ended on Somerlot-Hoffman Road where the suspects were apprehended. It was found there were five subjects in the vehicle, two of them being juveniles.

After further investigation three of the suspects in the vehicle were arrested as follows;

  • Michael L. Cummings, 41 years of age, Homeless Marion, Ohio.
  • Nicole L. Casey, 34 years of age, 105 Waterford Drive Bucyrus, Ohio.
  • Carla J. Daniels, 31 years of age, 319 Owens Street Apt. C. Marion, Ohio.

All three suspects were taken to the Multi-County Correctional Center after being interviewed by detectives of both agencies. Charges are being submitted to the Prosecutor’s Office on each of them for several counts of Breaking and Entering, Possession of Criminal Tools, Tampering with Evidence and Endangering Children.
