League of Women Voters offers information on local elections

The Marion League of Women Voters (LWV) is offering the following information to get you ready for Tuesday’s 2015 General Election. The ballot includes races and issues for every voter in Marion County.

The recent October 22, 2015 LWV Candidates Night, open to the public and broadcast live by WMRN from the  Marion Senior Center, was videotaped by students from Harding High School’s Digital Communications Department under the guidance of Telecom teacher John Mullins. The CN video can be viewed on-line at www.youtube.com/watch?v=aAWMXvggEpQ, which can be controlled with fast-forwarding and pause features.

CN is also broadcast daily on Time Warner Cable’s Marion Area Community Access Government/Education Channel 18 (Marion City Schools TV), and on 96-2 and 105 daily at 2:00 AM, 10:00 AM, and 6:00 PM until Election Day.

For information about candidates and voting issues, LWVM’s Voter Guide, co-sponsored with and recently published and distributed by The Marion Star, can be found on VOTE411.org.  You can also click here to download it directly.

The Voter Guide contains information about the 24 contested local candidates and also provides LWVO ‘s (State League) “voter friendly” non-partisan Explanation of State Issues 1, 2, and 3, along with the basic Pros and Cons to consider in voting for or against each of the Issues.
