Pistons beat Cavaliers 104-99

Through the first 11 games of the season, the Wine and Gold have been all but unbeatable against most of the Association. Then, there’s the Central Division.

The Cavaliers fell to 1-3 against their own division – (while going 7-0 against everyone else) – after dropping their second straight, a tough 104-99 loss on Tuesday night in Motown.

Every Cavalier starter scored in double-figures – the first time they’ve done so this season – but once again the squad struggled from the stripe, going 12-of-20 on the night while Detroit hit on 25-of-31 to snap its four-game losing streak.

LeBron James was nearly unstoppable in the first half, netting 23 points on 8-for-13 shooting, including 4-of-6 from long-distance. But the four-time MVP – who had averaged 13.3 points in the fourth quarter of the previous three games – eased off the throttle after intermission, attempting just eight field goals in the second stanza.

The Cavaliers’ M.O. through the first three weeks of the season has been to fall behind before mounting a comeback and pulling away. But the Pistons flipped the script on Cleveland at The Palace – overcoming a 10-point fourth-quarter deficit to hand the Cavs their third loss of the season.

LeBron still led both teams with 30 points, finishing 11-for-21 from the floor, 4-of-7 from beyond the arc. The 11-time All-Star – who’s topped the 30-point plateau in four straight games, five in his last six – added six boards and three assists in the loss.

Kevin Love followed up with 19 points and a team-high nine boards on Tuesday night – going 7-for-13 from the field to go with three assists and a steal.
