Bernice Anna Kraus, age 89, of Waldo, passed away early Wednesday morning at Marion General Hospital.
Born in Waldo on May 14, 1921 to Walter Lee and Mable (Denman) Waddell, she married Eugene Kraus on July 4, 1942 and he preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her 2 brothers; Paul Waddell and Harold Waddell and her sister; Viola Dowsett.
Bernice had worked for many years at the Waldo Animal Clinic and loved all animals, big and small. She was a member of Waldo United Methodist Church and enjoyed her Tuesday Night Friends Group meetings. Bernice was devoted to her beloved husband “Gene”, enjoyed traveling and fishing vacations and would never turn down a chance to eat at Bob Evans.
Surviving are her son; Damon (Brenda) Kraus of Waldo, 2 grandchildren; Kerry (Dan) Wasserbeck of Delaware and Sara (Derrick) Wolfe of Erie, Colorado and her 3 great-grandchildren; Payton and Avery Wasserbeck and Harlan Wolfe.
Funeral services for Bernice will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM at the Hughes-Allen Funeral Home. Private entombment will be at a later date in the Marion Cemetery Mausoleum. Friends may call Saturday from Noon until the service at the funeral home.
