Leonette White, age 67, of Marion, went to be with her Lord on Friday evening March 11, 2011 at her residence.
On October 24, 1943, Leonette was born in Marion, the daughter of the late Harold W. and Margaret L. (Doss) White.
She graduated from Marion Harding High School in the class of 1961. She attended Riverside Nursing School and received her diploma in 1965. Leonette attended the Kentucky Mountain Bible Institute and received her degree in missions in 1968.
Leonette worked as a medical missionary in Central India with the lepers for over 20 years until 1989 when she moved back home to care for her parents.
While in Marion she served as a Registered Nurse at East Lawn Manor and Marion Manor until her retirement in March of 2010. Leonette was devoted to those she worked with and considered them to be dear friends.
Devoted to her Lord and Savior, she was a member of Marion Allegheny Wesleyan Methodist Church. She loved the Lord and knew Him as her personal Savior for many years. She also shared a special relationship with many friends at the West Broad Missionary Church in Columbus.
She was a light to those she came in contact with. She had a caring heart for the elderly, young people and the little ones.
She will be dearly missed by her brother Richard E. (Sandra) White of Waco, TX; her niece Deborah (Robert) Clark of Basrtop TX; her great niece and great nephew, Dorothy Joy Clark and Michael Lee Clark.; and numerous cousins and devoted friends.
Leonette is preceded in death by her parents; Harold & Margaret, a brother Robert White and a niece Brenda Lee Pusateri.
She is also survived by special friends Rev. Patricia Stiltner and Clara Eardley. Clara;who lives in the state of Washington , felt called by God to come and help care for Leonette in her final days.
Friends may call on the family Tuesday, March 15, 2011 from 6PM to 8PM at the Marion Wesleyan Methodist Church, 1828 Marion Williamsport Road East, Marion OH, 43302. Funeral services will be Wednesday at the church at 1PM with Rev. David Blowers officiating. Burial will follow in Marion Cemetery.
