General Guinness Band to bring touch of Ireland to Marion

General Guinness BandOhio State Marion’s Five Nights on Campus performing arts series welcomes The General Guinness Band to Tri Rivers Career Center in the Giauque Auditorium, (2222 Marion Mt. Gilead Rd., Marion, OH 43302) Thursday, May 12, 2016, at 7:30 p.m.

The final performance of the 2015-16 season will be held at Tri-Rivers Career Center due to the temporary construction closure of Morrill Hall on the Marion campus.  Five Nights will return to Morrill Hall Auditorium in the fall 2016.

The General Guinness Band has performed the songs and music of Ireland for over 28 years. The band weaves lively ballads with fiddle tunes and step dancing to provide a quick-paced program with visual as well as aural interest. Solid vocals, intricate step dancing, and riveting instrumentals provide dynamic programing for today’s discerning audiences. The Irish have a colorful oral history of stories handed down from generation to generation, and The General Guinness Band takes great pride and pleasure in the retelling and embellishing of these stories of old.

Doors for the event will open at 7 p.m. All tickets are general seating.  For advance ticket purchase or information contact Emily Creasap at: (740) 725-6340 or e-mail: [email protected].  Tickets are $10 general admission, $9 for seniors (60 and up), $4 for students, (grades k-12, and college), and $8 for campus faculty and staff.
