Larry D. Williams, 75, of Marion

Larry D. WilliamsLarry D. Williams, age 75 of Marion, passed away on Saturday July 9, 2016 at his residence in Marion, Ohio surrounded by family and friends.

Larry was born on May 27, 1941 to the late Dwight M. and Helen E. (Couter) Williams in Morrow County.  He was a homebuilder in Marion for 17 years and a lineman for Marion Rural Electric (now Mid-Ohio Energy) for more than 27 years.  Larry also served his community as an elected township trustee for Grand Prairie Township in addition to his many community contributions.

On May 13, 2000 in Marion, Ohio, Larry married Christine (Bayless).  Larry and Christine spent spring and summer in Marion, OH and fall and winter in Tavares, FL.  Larry shared his passion for boating, fishing, building and helping others with his wife, Christine, and their extended families.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents; one sister and two brothers.

Larry is survived by his wife: Christine Bayless-Williams of Marion, OH; one daughter: Aimee (Ned) Lynn Rieke of Caledonia, OH and two sons: Kevin Neil Williams of Fishers, IN and Larry Lamont Williams of Howard, OH and one daughter-in-law: Heidi Williams.  His extended family includes three step-daughters: Susan (Michael) Robertson of Coconut Creek, FL, Karen Pennington of Bridgewater, MA and Jennifer (Richard) Zimmer of  Verona, NJ ;  one step-son: Jon (Julie) Mutter of Powell, OH; one brother: William F. Williams of Cardington, OH; four grandchildren and six step-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday July 29, 2016 at 1:30pm at the Emanuel Lutheran Church, 241 S Prospect St., Marion, OH, with Pastor Mark Schuring officiating.  Burial will follow service at the Marion Cemetery.
