Anthony Lee Denney, 28, of Marion

Anthony Lee DenneyAnthony Lee Denney was born February 17, 1988, to Mr. & Mrs. Don Lee and Barbara Moton in Marion, Ohio. Anthony was the oldest of four children, a dedicated son, brother, nephew, uncle, cousin, friend and confidant to all who knew him.

Anthony attended Marion Harding High School, graduating in 2007.  He was also a student at Marion Technical College. He accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior and was a faithful servant at Mayes Temple Church in Marion, Ohio. Anthony took on many jobs throughout his life, but the most rewarding of those was helping others. He loved his family and any way he could help his family members he would, could and did. He would do anything for you even if it was embarrassing. He enjoyed getting out meeting new friends, as well as hanging out with old friends. He was always just a phone call away and would stop whatever he was doing to attend to family and friends. And no matter what, he wouldn’t hold a grudge.

Anthony loved his car, and you could always find him somewhere detailing it to perfection. He stayed in tune with the latest car stereo systems and loved listening to R&B and old school blues music.  He also liked Chinese food, cold Diet Pepsi, and going to the movies.

Anthony had such a vibrant and gentle spirit and zeal for life that was uniquely his. When talking with him you were the focus of his attention, and could see his genuine concern in his eyes. He was always smiling and doing something to make extra money.  His adorable smile, sweet laugh and sense of humor will be missed – you could not lose being in Anthony’s presence.

The Lord called Anthony home to everlasting life on Friday, July 8, 2016 at the age of 28.  Anthony leaves to cherish his memories his loving mother and father Don Lee and Barbara Moton, wonderful brothers: Isaiah Moton, (Bambi, and daughter Madision Noelle), Donald Moton, and a beloved baby sister Daisy Moton all of Marion, Ohio; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends too numerous to list but not forgotten.

He is preceded in death by his grandfather, Harlan Denney; grandmother Alberta Nelson-Frye, and grandfather David Lee Moton; an uncle Chester Moton, a great aunt Ethel Campbell-Cross, and a cousin, Keion Peters.

Visitation will be held on Friday July 22, 2016 starting at 12pm to 1pm at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home.  Funeral service will start at 1pm after visitation time with Pastor Shawn Jackson officiating.  Burial will follow service at the Marion Cemetery.
