The Marion Police Department said Wednesday that they arrested the parents of a toddler after that child overdoes twice on painkillers.
On July 24, 2016, officers and detectives responded to Marion General Hospital to investigate a report of an overdose of an 18-month-old female child. Investigators report that it appears the child had overdosed on Percocets. Police said the same child had previously overdosed on Percocets on July 19, 2016.
On July 26, 2016, arrest warrants were served on Alan Kearns, 33, of Marion, and Kassandra Kearns, 32, of Marion, and each were charged with Child Endangering, a felony of the third degree. Both were taken to the Multi-County Correctional Center.
Marion County Children’s Services is also participating in this investigation.
