Peggy Jessie, 79, of Marion

Peggy JessiePeggy Joan Jessie born March 2, 1937 to Cyril and Nadine Blow. Entered Heaven’s gates on July 30, 2016. Peg had two sisters, Bobbi Henry (deceased) and Phyllis (Vern) Heimlich.

Peg was a 1955 graduate of Claridon High School, where she met the love of her life, Gene, whom she affectionately called Jessie. Like many young couples of that era, they were married shortly after high school. He preceded her in death; she missed him every single day.

Peggy and Gene had two sons, Craig (Jenny) and Jeff, who loved and cared for their mother. She will also be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Angie (Randy) Ridder, Betsy Woken, Courtney Jessie, Deric Dennis, and Justin (Amanda) Jessie. Peg was blessed with eleven great-grandchildren: Colin, Avery, Brady, Gavin, Gabe, Ava, Bella, Addi, Livi, Jordan, and Sam. Peg could always count on her niece, Tami Henry, to help out when needed.

Peg was a woman of faith who looked forward to the day she would be reunited with her beloved Jessie. Peggy enjoyed spending her days in her comfy apartment, and she felt lucky to be attached to her family home. She loved making her surroundings as comfortable and welcoming as possible. She enjoyed visits from family and friends often.

Peg never missed an opportunity to watch her favorite NBA player, LeBron James. She followed him to Miami and back to Cleveland.

Peg cherished being a member of her Mothers Club. She graciously held the gatherings at her home, and she always looked forward to hosting these events for her friends.

Peg’s family would like to thank the Fort Morrow Fire Department, Marion General Hospital Emergency Room, and Peg’s faithful friend Janet Poorman.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 2, 2016 from 12 pm until 2 pm at Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home.  A 2 pm funeral will be celebrated at the funeral home with Lori Johnson officiating.  Burial will follow at Waldo Cemetery.

Denzer-Farison-Hottinger & Snyder Funeral Home is honored to have been chosen to serve Peggy’s family.
