Edwin V. “Ed” Granger, age 92, of Marion, died Saturday afternoon, July 30, 2016, at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Marion on November 17, 1923.
Brother Granger was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
Ed, son of Alonzo and Gertrude (Conway) Granger, has said he grew up during the depression, unaware of being poor. He is quoted as saying “he was not immune to mischief making as a young boy”. Ed recalled the days of his youth with a fond look in his eyes. At an early age Ed felt the desire to serve the
Lord and delighted in memorizing many prayers.
Jesus Christ remained his focus as he loved and served the Kingdom until his days on earth led him home to hear “Well Done, My good and faithful servant”
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Left to mourn his loss, are his devoted wife, Barbara Jordan Granger, Brother in law, Robert M Johnston, a special great nephew, Sammy Stiffler. Also left behind are a brother and 2 sisters, and many nieces and nephews.
His family will greet friends from 1 to 2 p.m., on Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1725 Marion-Edison Rd., Marion. Funeral services celebrating his life and journey into Heaven will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints, 1725 Marion-Edison Rd., Marion, with Bishop Gilbert Crawford officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
