William L. Drollinger, age 90, of Marion, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at Heartland of Marion.
On June 8, 1926, he was born to the late Edward and Gail (Clark) Drollinger Paddock, and on June 30, 1950, he married his wife Twila Jean Wigton, who preceded him in death on December 24, 1971.
William was a member of the VFW Post 7572 in Marblehead, Ohio, and he was a longtime member of the Masons. He loved to boat and fish, and he spent much of his time on Lake Erie and in Cape Coral, Florida.
Though he retired from Ohio Edison after 20 years of service, he spent some of his time as a Marion Police Officer and as an appliance repairman at Schaffners. William was also a veteran, having served in the Navy during World War II, Seaman First Class serving in the South Pacific.
He is survived by his son Rick (Tami) Drollinger of Marion, Ohio; his brother Robert (Peggy) Drollinger of Marion, Ohio; his grandchildren David (Lisa) Drollinger and Dawn (Jason) Roberts; his four great-grandchildren Christopher, Ashlyn, Elizabeth, and Blake; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Twila and his sisters Mary O’Hara and Betty Nash.
Visitation will be held Sunday, October 16, 2016 from 2 PM to 5 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Services will be held Monday, October 17, 2016 at 11 AM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Marion Cemetery.
