Genevieve Louise Jesionek, 90, of Marion

Genevieve Louise Jesionek, age 90, of Marion, passed away Tuesday, October 25, 2016 surrounded by her family at Marion General Hospital.

Genevieve, more lovingly known as “Lollie”, was born, one of four children, in Marion, Ohio on July 1, 1926 to the late Charles D. and Julia Edna (Cook) Dille.

As a member of the Greatest Generation, Lollie was a hardworking, loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. In younger years, she worked for the US Government during WWII manufacturing bombs in Marion and later in life worked at JC Penny’s and as a nurse’s aide.

Lollie was united in marriage on August 16, 1946, to the late Edward Bernard Jesionek.  Together they shared a wonderful life raising five children and enjoying life to its fullest.  After Edward’s passing on April 2, 1992, Lollie continued to live at Seton Square, where she had the honor of being the longest tenant.  She greatly enjoyed her time at Seton Square, making lifelong friends and rarely missing Thursday morning coffee to socialize.

To say that Lollie was an excellent cook was an understatement.  She was famous for her pies and the entire family looked forward to the beautiful Christmas cookies which she would always prepare.  Lollie was a woman of faith, attending St. Mary Church in Marion for many years.

The most important aspect of Lollie’s life was her family who will miss her so very much.  She leaves behind children, E. Jonathan (Josie) Jesionek of Desoto, TX, Jeannene R. (Lynn) James of Marion, Donald A. (Val) Jesionek of Wadsworth, Peter L. (Kathleen) Jesionek of  Columbus, Lisa (Dr. David) Hypes of Marion; grandchildren, Ryan J. (Erin) Jesionek, Aaron (Jen) Jesionek, Jake Chestner, Kristina (Jake) Abry, Nicholas Jesionek, Michael Jesionek, Anne (Adam) Stewart, Cameron (Sarah) Hypes, and Julia Hypes; 17 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Genevieve was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Julia; step-father, Lyle (Pappy) Blamer; husband, Edward Bernard; step-daughter, Alice Adams; and siblings, Donald Dille, Bruce Blamer, and Virginia Creasap.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Monday, October 31, 2016, at St. Mary Catholic Church by Father Ryan Schmit.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Lollie’s honor to St. Mary Church.
