Ralph L. Barkley, age 98 of Marion, passed away on Monday November 7, 2016 at the Marion Manor.
Ralph was born on June 29, 1918 in Marion, the son of John E. and Martha L. (Hettler) Barkley. He was united in marriage to Evelyn Converse on November 25, 1945. She preceded him in death on February 17, 2010.
For several years Ralph worked at the Marion Frozen Food Center and then retired from Whirlpool Corporation in March of 1989 after over 32 years of dedicated service. He is a member of the Retirement Club, an active member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church and a 60 year member of the Masonic Lodge # 70 F & AM.
He is survived by his siblings: Mary Stafford, Jean Hodges and Helen Moloney and nieces and nephews.
Ralph is preceded in death by his parents; wife Evelyn Barkley; siblings: Glen Barkley, John C. Barkley, Donald Barkley, Elmer Barkley, Richard Barkley, Howard Barkley, Marguerite Philbrick, and Dorothea VanMeter.
Visitation will be held on Thursday November 10, 2016 at Emanuel Lutheran Church, 241 S Prospect St, Marion from 10AM to 11AM; Funeral services will follow at 11AM with Pastor Kevin Kehn officiating; Burial will be in Marion Cemetery.
