Eugene Conrad McDaniel age 89 of Marion, Ohio, passed away on Wednesday November 9, 2016 at his residence.
He was born in Wyandot County on February 5, 1927 to the late Russell and Mary (Wentz) McDaniel.
On September 3, 1947 in Kentucky he married Alice Jean Swihart and they have spent 69 wonderful years together.
Eugene was retired from the former Marion Power Shovel Co. where he spent 37 years of employment, retiring in 1989.
Eugene was a WWII U.S. Army Veteran. He was an avid football fan and loved mowing and gardening.
Besides his wife, he leaves behind six children; Sandra (Robert) Heighland, Barbara (Michael) McIntire, Rita (Ronnie) Crego, David (Ruth) McDaniel, Douglas (Lee Ann) McDaniel, and Charles (Sarah) McDaniel. Thirteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren survive as well as a sister, Janet McCann, and two brothers; Irvin and Paul McDaniel. Numerous nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews survive.
Besides his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by a grandchild, and three sisters; Evelyn Price, Cleta Frye, Carol Wright, and a brother, Glenn McDaniel.
There will be no services for Eugene, but there will be visitation on Monday November 14, 2016 from 3 to 5 P.M. at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home.
