Nancy A. Harmon, age 76, of Marion, passed away unexpectedly Friday morning, November 25, 2016, at Marion General Hospital.
She was born on Thursday May 16, 1940, to the late Harry E. and Mary C. (Kolasinski) Gisel, in Toledo, OH. Nancy attended the Notre Dame Academy and graduated in the class of 1958. She would later go on to earn her associates degree in nursing from Marion Technical College.
On Friday September 21, 1983, Nancy married the love of her life, Tom L. Harmon and together they enjoyed 33 years of marriage.
For 25 years, Nancy tirelessly took care of the needs of her patients as a registered nurse at Grady Memorial Hospital, Morrow County Hospital, and Marion General Hospital. Most of her time was spent as a nurse in the Emergency Rooms.
When Nancy was not hard at work caring for her patients, she loved reading books and poetry. Along with reading she took an interest in quotes. There are several inspiring quotes throughout her house. After retirement Nancy found an interest quilting and cooking and had been a member of the Creators Guild.
Above all she adored her family. She could be found on the sidelines of her grandchildren’s sporting events cheering the team onto victory. She didn’t miss their show choir or musicals either. She would also dress up for Halloween and go trick or treating with her grandchildren each year. Laughter was very important to her and she loved making people laugh, even if she didn’t intend to do so.

(Christine)Harmon; eight grandchildren: Jacob, Hayden, Cassidy, D’Arcy, GiGi, Shae, Lucas, and Ailyn; a sister, Barbara J. Don; numerous nieces and nephews and her loving dogs Samson and Solomon.
She was greeted at heaven’s gates by her parents and her first husband Donald J. Folger.
