Marthalene Mae Berry, age 86, of Marion, Ohio, passed away Thursday, November 24, 2016 at Heartland of Marion. On January 29, 1930, she was born to the late Clurd and Nellie (Holtsberry) Sharp, and on February 28, 1947, she married her husband Virgil Berry.
Marthalene attended the Church of Christ in Christian Union for many years, and she enjoyed reading the Bible and crocheting. Before her husband’s passing, they spent much of their time fishing together.
She is survived by her sons Calvin L. (Flora) Berry, Virgil L. (Peggy) Berry, and David R. (Jocelyn) Berry; her daughters Barbara Moore and Darlene (Alan) Harp; and 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband Virgil and her three brothers.
Visitation will take place Sunday, November 27, 2016 from 4 PM to 6 PM at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Services will be held Monday, November 28, 2016 at 10 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Grand Prairie Cemetery.
