Walter G. Plaul age 62 of Marion passed away Friday, April 15, 2011 at Marion General Hospital.
Born in Circleville, Ohio to the late Walter G. and Sarah E. (Griffey) Plaul.
Walter graduated from Northridge High School in Johnstown, Ohio in 1967. He married JoAnn (Wells) Plaul on February 27, 1968.
Walter was in the U.S. Air force for four years during the Vietnam War. He then worked as a maintenance mechanic at Eaton Corporation in Marion for 28 years and Midwest A-Coust-A-Fiber in Delaware, Oh. for 10 years until he retired in 2008.
He was baptized and attended church at Richland Road Church of Christ since 2005.
Walter loved motorcycle riding, repairing anything, boating, golfing, fishing, hunting, sports and reading the Bible.
Walter is survived by his wife JoAnn, two sons Christopher (Cathy) Plaul of Marion, Walter G. Plaul II of Marion, one daughter, Angie Plaul (Teresia Halsey) of Columbus, one brother Charlie (Ethel) Griffey of Circleville, four sisters, Carlene Griffey of Circleville, Yvonne Blankenship of Circleville, Bonnie (Fred) Frank of Columbus, Sherri (Tom) Reedy of Ashville, Oh., one brother in law Donald (Donna) Wells of Bucyrus, Oh., one sister in law, Jenny McCabe of Panama City, Fla, one aunt Jenny Vance of Arizona, one uncle Tedd Griffey of Circleville, numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, April 23, 2011 at Richland Road Church of Christ 535 Richland Road with Rev. Russell Howard officiating. A reception will follow at the church after the service.
