Gloria Jean “Jones” Marvin, 63, of Marion passed away Sunday, April 17, 2011 at Riverside Methodist Hospital.
She was born June 17, 1947 in Marion to the late George Junior and Virginia (Drake) Wells.
She married Donald L. Jones March 12, 1972. Donald passed away March 24, 1987. On April 3, 2002 in Dunkirk. Gloria married Donald Marvin who survives in Caledonia.
The most precious things in Gloria’s life were her family and her church. She was a homemaker and loved the time she was able to spend with her family. At church she enjoyed singing in the choir and was known for her healing hands.
In addition to her husband Donald Gloria is survived by sons, Don (Michelle), and Kevin Richard (Samanatha) Jones of Marion; favorite grandchildren, DJ, Terra, and Amanda Jones; brothers, Mick (Donna) Wells of Mt. Victory, Dave (Dru), and Ed (Vicky) Wells of Marion, and Martin (Vickie) Wells of Caledonia; sister, Sharon (Carson) Chesser of Marion; step-daughters, Penny Marvin, and Lorri (Dean) Greashaber of Marion, and Lisa (Mark) Veley of Caledonia; 7 step-grandchildren; 5 step-great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and her church family.
In addition to her parents and first husband Gloria was preceded in death by her grandson, Andrew Jones.
Calling hours will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2011 from 11-1 at New Covenant Church. A funeral service will begin at 1 PM. Burial will follow in Grand Prairie Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers contributions in memory of Gloria may be made to the Marvin family, in care of Boyd-Born Funeral Home, to assist with cemetery expenses.
