Rosie Caroline Parmer, 83, of Marion

Rosie Caroline Parmer, age 83, of Marion, passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017 at Heartland of Marion.

Rosie was born February 4, 1933 in Phyllis, KY to the late James Marshall and Cora (Honaker) Justice.

On April 14, 1958, Rosie married William A.  “Bill” Parmer Jr.  Bill passed away in 2011.

Rosie worked for many years in the housekeeping department at Marion Manor until her retirement in 1987.  Rosie was a faithful woman and attended Marion First Freewill Baptist Church.  She will be missed for her wonderful homemade fried chicken and cookies.  In younger years, Rosie enjoyed sewing and singing gospel music; she could often be found tending to her garden.

Rosie is survived by her children,  William A. (Sandy) Parmer, III of Springfield, OH, Greg (Teena) Chaney of Marion, Deborah Frost of Marion, Vickie (Tim) Lewis of Marion, Bonnie and (John) Lee of Marion; grandchildren, Debra (Albert) Parker, Melissa (Barry) Huff, Tracy (Treves) Wilson, DeAnne (Jeff) Bost, Christina (Jon) Gulyas, Katrina Troiano, Ashley (Derek) Wymer, Cory (Kate) Lee, and Hannah Lee; 20 great-grandchildren, 30 great-great-grandchildren, and siblings Bufford (Betty) Justice and Ollie Sams, both of Covington, KY.

Rosie was preceded in death by parents, James and Cora; husband, Bill; son, Randell Chaney; 5 brothers, and 4 sisters.

Visitation will be held from 4 until 7 pm Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at Marion Frist Freewill Baptist Church, 1449 Crissinger Rd. A funeral service will be held at the church Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at 1pm with Rev. Jerry Copley officiating.  Friends may call one hour prior to the service and burial will follow at Grand Prairie Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made in Rosie’s honor to Marion First Freewill Baptist Church.
