Bert Osborne Jr., of Prospect, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2011 at Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville, South Carolina.
Bert was 81 years old; born May 26, 1929 to the late Bert Osborne Sr. and Pauline (Hickman) Smith. He married Donna Pickett July 29, 1961 in Marion.
Bert worked as supervisor of the feed mill for Central Soya for 47 years. He attended First Church of the Nazarene in Marion.
Bert is survived by his wife Donna Osborne; daughters, Carolyn (John) Russell and Marsha (Larry) Davenport of Delaware, OH; Brenda (Paul) Charleston and Tammy (Rich) Riley of Prospect, OH; stepsons, Terry (Beth) Ward of Marion, Tom (Jomi) Ward of Jeffersonville, OH, and Rick (Shari) Almendinger of New York. He also leaves behind 20 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and 1 great-great grandchild. A stepsister, Evolena Erwin of Findlay, OH; brothers-in-law, Larry (Marcia) Pickett of South Carolina, and Bill (Peg) Pickett of Marion, and many nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Robert E. Osborne.
A funeral service will be held Friday, April 29, 2011 at 11 AM at Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Green Camp Cemetery. Pastor Riley Powell will officiate the service. Friends and loved ones may visit with the family Thursday, April 28 from 4-8 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Bert’s memory to the First Church of the Nazarene’s Continuing the Legacy Fund.
