Catherine E. Boyd passed away Monday, May 9, 2011 at 9:15 PM at Marion Manor after a brief illness. She was 96 years old.
Catherine was born September 28, 1914 in Union County to the late Arthur and Delia Grace (Potts) Erwin. She married Harold Boyd in Marion on August 10, 1962. Harold passed away January 3, 1986.
Catherine worked 24 years at B.F. Goodrich in Green Camp, Ohio. After retiring she enjoyed going to the Marion, Pleasant and Prospect Senior’s Centers, and Community Action. She attended Oakland United Methodist Church.
Catherine is survived by daughters, Donna Rose, Delores Abbott and Leah Fleming; grandsons, Tom Rose, Jr., Rod Rose, Chris Abbott, and Mike Fleming; granddaughters, Susan Abbott, and Leah M. Dyer; great grandchildren, Ashlee Rose, Alex Rose, Summer Rose, Jessica Rose, Chris Abbott, Jr., Kellie Walker, and Corey Abbott; great-great grandchildren, Kylee, Brooke, Isaac, Nick, Piercen, Alexzandrea, Ayden, Jacob, Gavin, and Ella; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by an infant son, Eugene; a brother, J. W. “Bill” Erwin; three sisters, Leslie Rockhold, Atta Lane, and Irene Hall; and three sons-in-law, Thomas Rose, Thomas R. Abbott, and Donald Fleming.
A private family burial took place Friday, May 13, 2011 in Chapel Heights Memory Gardens. Reverend Velazco conducted the service.
