Dorothy Jane Eberhart, age 90, left to be with her Lord Wednesday, May 11, 2011 from Marion Manor Nursing Center.
Born on March 9, 1921 to Jesse LeRoy and Helen (Osmun) Eberhart, she was affectionately known as Dort and had a love for animals, especially her two cats.
Dort was a lifelong resident of Marion and had been employed by both the Marion Star and Marion City Schools.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved sister; Mary Belle Welch. Dort is survived by her cousins; David and Mary Jo Osmun and their sons and Susan Hines and her daughters, special friends; Kay and Bill White, Marilyn Collins and her many friends at Emanuel Baptist Church.
A celebration of Dort’s life will be held Monday at 2:00 PM at the Hughes-Allen Funeral Home with Pastor Ronald Douglas officiating. Burial will follow in the Claridon Cemetery. Friends may call Monday from Noon until the time of services at the funeral home.
