Phyllis Steffey age 71 of Defiance, Ohio, passed away Monday May 23, 2011 at the Brookview Health Care Center in Defiance, Ohio.
She was born June 20, 1939 in Superior, Ohio in Lawrence, Co., to the late Solomon and Mary (Wilson) Large.
On March 14, 1957 in Marion, Ohio, she married Jim Steffey and he survives.
Phyllis worked at one time at the Marion Country Club and also when possible, attended the Marion Enterprise Baptist Church.
Phyllis is also survived by a son, Rickey Lee (Sally) Steffey of Napoleon, Ohio and two grandsons, Joshua and Matthew Steffey.
Besides her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Sara Lee Steffey, six brothers; Mont, Millard, Willard, Sr., Lon, Walter, and Clifford all named Large, and five sisters; Adeline and Opal Smith, Marie Bogan, Retha Bailey, and Jenny Belle Large.
Funeral Services for Phyllis will be Thursday May 26, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. at the Boyd-Born Funeral Home. Officiating the service will be Rev. Paul McKenzie. Burial will follow in the Grand Prairie Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M.
