Dixie Boblenz, 68, of Big Island passed away Saturday morning at her home when the Lord came to reclaim one of His own. She was a good mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to all.
Dixie was born May 20, 1942 in Marion. She was the daughter of the late Robert Roshon and Mary Roshon, living in LaRue. She graduated from Kenton High School in 1960 and married Wayne Boblenz on June 12, 1960.
Dixie enjoyed traveling the back roads of Ohio participating in art shows, acquiring buttons for her prized collection, searching for bargains and enjoying great restaurants. She was, for many years, a member of Grace Baptist Church and in recent years attended Richland Road Church of Christ. She never retired from being a homemaker and was at her happiest when spending time with family and friends.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, Wayne. They were to celebrate their 50th anniversary on June 12. She is also survived by two daughters, Dee (Rick) Murray of Prospect and Brenda (Todd) Buckland of Green Camp; five grandchildren, Matt (Kristin) Murray, Katie Murray, Amanda, Amber and Austin Buckland; two great granddaughters, Cassidy and Bella Murray; one brother, Rev. Ken (Joy) Roshon of Arizona; two special nephews, Nathanael (Jennifer) and Luke Roshon; and lots of special friends she held dear to her heart.
Dixie’s family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 25 at Richland Road Church of Christ where the funeral will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. with Russell Howard officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to a charity of the donor's choice through Boyd-Born Funeral Home who assisted with arrangements.
