Kraig Allen Gibson passed away Saturday, June 4, 2011 at 9:05 AM at Marion General Hospital. He was 59 years old.
Kraig was born March 19, 1952 in Marion to Carl J. and Eleanor L. (Swindler) Gibson.
Kraig graduated from Marion Harding High School in 1970, and the College of Wooster class of 1974. He was a member of the football team for both schools. He was a former substitute teacher for Tri-Rivers and Marion City Schools, and was a former painting supplies salesman. Kraig was a member of Central Christian Church where he sang in the choir and held offices of deacon and elder. He also sang with Marionaries Barber Shop Quartet, the Madricals Singers, and the Grail Christian Singers.
Kraig is survived by his mother, Eleanor L. Gibson; three sisters, Connie (Robert) Syckes of Piqua, OH, Carla (Gary) Habegger of Berne, IN, and Jackie (Jesse) Hines of Marion, OH; nine nieces and nephews, Jennifer Sycks, Elizabeth (Deron) Johns, Kimberly Sycks, Lucinda (Jeff) Bradley, Kirk (Stefany) Habegger, Amanda (Kyle) Sprunger, Brent Habegger, Tara (Rob) Curts, and Brian (Elizabeth) Hines; and nine great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carl J. Gibson; and twin brother, Kenneth L. Gibson.
Calling hours will be held Tuesday, June 7, 2011 from 4-8 PM at Boyd-Born Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 8 at 11 AM at the Central Christian Church. Pastor Bud Hill will officiate the service. Burial will be at a later date in Marion Cemetery.
